AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution is a combination of strong debris and gases withinside the air. Caused by the presence of a substance that may cause adverse effects on humans, animals, and the environment. There are hundreds of air pollutants generated from natural or anthropogenic activities.  When ozone bureaucracy air pollution, it’s additionally known as smog. Some air pollutants are poisonous. Car emissions, chemical substances from factories, dust, pollen, and mildew spores can be suspended as debris.

Air Pollution Types:-

Types 1:-

  1. Criteria Air Pollutant– Pollutants in outdoor air.  NAAQS are presently set for carbon monoxide, lead, ground-stage ozone, nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter, and sulfur dioxide. for 6, not unusual place air pollution (additionally acknowledged as “standards air pollution”). This pollution is damaging your fitness and the surroundings and purpose assets damage.
  2. HAPP( Hazardous Air Pollutants ):- Emissions of hazardous air pollutants. through rulemaking to include 188 hazardous air pollutants. Ex:- cadmium, Benzene formaldehyde
  3. Non-criteria pollutants:- – No limit is allowed. Mercury, Asbestos, Arsenic, Vinegar chloride All pollution now no longer categorised as standards air pollution may be stated to be non-standards pollution. Non-standards pollution encompasses benzene, dioxins, and pesticides.

Types 2:-

(a)Primary air pollutants:- Those that are emitted directly into the air from sources. Examples – Sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, volatile organic matter, particulate matters, lead, ammonia etc.

(b) Secondary air pollutants:- A secondary pollutant is not directly emitted into the air from sources but forms when other pollutants react in the atmosphere. Ex:- O3, H2SO4,PAN (Peroxy Acetyl Nitrate )
